Clipping for Crypto Token Launches: A Playbook

A token launch is one of the highest-signal moments a crypto project gets, and one of the easiest to under-distribute. The announcement, the founder's explanation, the AMA, the utility demo: each is a clip waiting to be cut. A clipping campaign turns that single moment into weeks of coverage across many accounts.

Line up source content before launch day

Clippers can only cut what exists. Before the launch, record the raw material: a founder explaining the token in plain language, an X Space or AMA, a product or utility demo, and any partner or exchange news. The more real, quotable moments you capture, the more distinct clips your network can produce.

Time the campaign to the window

Launch attention is spiky. Open the campaign so clips can go live right as the announcement drops, and keep it funded through the days after, when explainer and reaction clips tend to perform. A single press release fades in hours; a stream of clips keeps the story in feeds for weeks.

Set caps that fit a volatile moment

Launch clips can spike unpredictably. A per-video cap keeps one viral clip from draining the pool, and a per-account cap spreads payout across many creators rather than a few. Pay on the stabilized floor so bot-driven launch-day spikes do not overpay.

Lean on the community you already have

Most projects launch with a Discord or Telegram full of genuine supporters. A clipping campaign gives them a paid, structured way to make content about a launch they already care about, which reads more organically than outside influencers with no connection to the project.

Watch region and platform spread

A launch that only lands in one region or on one platform is under-distributed. Tracking clipper spread by region and platform shows whether the launch is actually reaching new markets. You can also target specific regions or countries when a launch is market-specific.

How big should a launch pool be?

Large enough to reward a meaningful number of clippers, but it is a fixed, capped budget either way, so you control the ceiling. Many projects start with a test pool and add funds if the campaign is performing.

Is clipping compliant for token promotion?

Clippers post in their own voice on their own accounts, and you set the brief. As with any paid promotion, require clear disclosure and avoid price or return promises. For the mechanics, see how clipping works, and for why the model fits crypto, see why clipping works for crypto, AI and SaaS.
